Your trip to the Isle of Eigg will start at the fishing village of Mallaig or in Arisaig, one of the great Yacht havens on the West Coast. When you arrive at the Pier you will be met and transported to Clanranald Cottage. Newly refurbished in 2009,the Cottage is situated on the shore of the Isle of Eigg overlooking the Small Minch and the stunning hills of Morven.

By Car, Bus or Rail to Mallaig and then by the Cal Mac Ferry Loch Nevis to Eigg. Voyage time 1 Hour 20 minutes. Runs all year
By Car, Bus or Rail to Arisaig and then by the Arisaig Marine Ferry Sheerwater to Eigg. Voyage time 1 Hour. The Sheerwater runs April to end of September
The train journey from Fort William crosses some of the most spectacular countryside in Britain, including the Glenfinnan Viaduct, as featured in the Harry Potter films
The cottage was fully refurbished in Spring 2009, and comes with underfloor central heating. Relaxing on the settee with a G&T after a day climbing the Sgurr or exploring the Singing Sands will afford you a stunning view through the front picture window, a view which constantly changes as the tide ebbs and flows throughout the day. Electricity is supplied from the Island’s Green Grid. The electricity is generated by wind, water and sun power
After a days walking, or visiting Rum or Muck, come back to Clanranald, enjoy a shower and maybe pop out to the local restaurant for dinner. If you decide to stay in, the cottage is equiped with a TV and freeview, radio/CD player, a DVD player, along with numerous board games, something for all the family. You can always get into that book you have been meaning to read. An evening stroll to the other side of the island for the sunset is always highly recommended.
