The island of Eigg has something for everyone. Climb the Sgurr, explore the history of Eigg by visiting the Cathederal and Massacre Cave, and the Gruilin townships. The history of Eigg can be traced back to Early Prehistoric times, running through Medieaval, Viking and on to the 18th and 19th century clearances. Visit the Crofting Museum in Cleadale to get a feel for Highland life.
For the Ornithologist Eigg is a haven, with over 130 Species of birds recorded on the island in 2008, from Golden Eagles to Wrens.
You may just want to spend a day on Laig Beach or the Singing sands, surrounded by unique geology.

Beautiful sandy beaches dot the coastline. Eigg boasts a variety of fantastic sandy beaches where you can just relax in the sun or enjoy exploring the shoreside pools that are fun for the whole family.
